Let us celebrate ALL HALLOWS EVE with children of all ages arriving for the Sunday, October 31, 10:30am Mass at St. Charles dressed as SAINTS!
Much like Christmas Eve is the Mass celebrated the night before Christmas, or the Easter Vigil is the Mass celebrated the night before Easter…
All Hallows Eve (Halloween) is the Vigil of All Saints Day, our Catholic solemnity celebrated November 1 in honor of all the saints!
Since a Vigil takes place in the darkness of the night before, the celebration lights up the night and clears the way in this case for a joyous commemoration of all the saints who lived as witnesses to Christ’s own light in their lives.
As Catholics, we rejoice in God’s victory of light over darkness!
So come dressed as a saint! Who is your favorite saint, or is there a saint you have recently learned about? St. Brigid of Ireland? St. Isidore the Farmer? St. Nicholas of Myra? St. Margaret of Scotland? There are so many to choose from! Or come dressed as a super-hero…one of the “good guys” whose latest mission will be to help us Christians celebrate ALL saints!
