So, not docent at night. Free tour with docent for homeschoolers. Want to do a Friday in Jan. or Feb?
Please let me know and sorry for the messiness of this operation.

playmobile
Hi everyone,
I have a brand new (only opened on Christmas day) Playmobile veterinarian playhouse up for grabs. My mother got it for Ben last year but playmobile has never taken hold in my house. Fine by me. The little pieces are not my thing. It's all I can do with legos. Anyway, let me know if you want it, otherwise it's going to goodwill.

Tomorrow night's meeting
Hi all!
I know that several have expressed interest in focusing on the year of Faith for our meetings. I have so much to learn and will just soak it in. Also, would you all be willing to discuss your faith formation curriculums and schedules? I'm at a standstill with Ben and need something vibrant for him and, of course, the character developing discipline of the B. Catechism. I'd like to know how you all go about your FF curric. Thanks is advance for sharing and hope we have time for that. Also, just commented on PMA section. Fri. Jan. 22 for Lois Dodd and general tour of other exhibits. Will check out if there are some scavenger hunt activities or online prep work to enrich the time. Stay tuned.

Advent Decisions
Well--Advent is sneaking up on us! What do you and your family do to observe the season, and build the anticipation for Baby Jesus (as opposed to the anticipation for getting stuff!)? We always do the advent wreath on the dinner table. Other things have come and gone. Hay in the baby cradle for every small sacrifice to make Baby's Jesus' bed softer (messy), a paper chain with a different activity/prayer/sacrifice every day (fun, except when I'd preview the activity at 6 AM and know we couldn't do it and have to change it at the last minute--I'd keep a bag of candy stashed and write "candy" on the chain on those days...). Or a calendar on poster board with flaps taped on to rip of at the beginning of the day to reveal the activity. I've also done the Jesse Tree--including the days when we all sit down and press though 5 readings and image drawing to catch up...
That was a nice review! I think I'll try to do the Jesse tree with the older kids making one image per day out of sculpy so they can be re-used in years to come (and replaced easily when lost/broken). And I think the purple paper chain is the winner this year--It's very fun to have it hanging in the diningroom, and a great visual reminder of how long till christmas.
So what do you do??

Prayers Please
Hi everyone! I was wondering if you might remember someone in your prayers for me. You may have heard in the news over the weekend that there was a home explosion in a neighborhood in Indianapolis. This neighborhood was about five minutes from where Theron, Zoe, and I used to live. Two people died and I just realized that I knew one of them. Jennifer was a grade behind me and friend in high school although we did not stay in touch after graduation. We both played the flute in band and often sat next to each other in class. She didn't have any children but was a much-loved second grade teacher who is missed by her students. Her husband died as well. I believe that she was Catholic. In addition, about five homes were completely destroyed and 80 were damaged. Dozens of those may have to be demolished because of the structural damage they sustained from the force of the explosion. It's a sad situation that hits close to home for me. Please pray for the people who have lost their homes and for the souls of Jennifer and her husband. Thanks.

Winslow Homer ends in Dec.
Do you all have your heart set on WH? Shall we scurry for a Dec. Friday night, or is Dec. too packed for everyone? If we don't do Dec., let's wait at least until Jan. 22 so we can take advantage of a visitin exhibit. Let me know your thoughts.
Hi Caroline,The Winslow Homer exhibit comes down on December 30th. January 15th would work, but there would be no exhibit in our Temporary Exhibit space downstairs. The show coming after the Homer exhibit opens 1/17.Would you want to wait until after the 17th? Or you are welcome to come on the 15th and see the rest of the museum! I will also need to know how many students you will have, and how many chaperones you'll be brining, and what time you would like to come. Thanks,Molly

Meetings
Hi everybody,
I just want to thank you all for coming yesterday. It was SO refreshing to be around such abundant faith and women and children who can actually articulate truths, needs, and desires of our faith.
I want to especially thank Elisabeth, Mary Catherine, and Thalia (and their mothers who somehow made something stick!) for their candid coversation about faith needs for younger people because, lets face it, they are the future of our Church and we need to feed them (Allison, I'm sure your girls know how to be discreet; I don't want them talking about the lady who was depressed after she "helped out" at Life Teen.).
I have a few thoughts about all of the above that are taking more shape and form, but I just thank you all so much for your faith lives, integrity, honesty, and company. I really needed that yesterday.
It sound like we have some topics to discuss.
